The Transgender Education Foundation
Speaking in unison for all to hear

There is an adaptation to an old Shakespearian quotation that says "the world is merely a stage and we are all actors upon it." But, we in the Transgender Community, on that stage, are playing to the most scrutinizing audience of all. And that audience does not understand transgenderism.
Therefore, the Transgender Education Foundation representatives, board of directors and selected public speakers are keenely aware of issues relating to the transgender/transsexual community.  The Transgender Education Foundation also subscribes to the World Professional Association of Transgender Health Care (WPATH), and the American Psychiatric Association's methodilogy and use of the Diagnostic and Statistical manual for diagnosis of Gender Identity Disorders and associated nomenclatures.  A modus operandi that opposes WPATH and APA only fuels further opposition to all nomenclatures relating to the transgender community.  All of us in the Transgender community should embrace the fact that Gender Identity Disorder is not a diregoritory term if we are to convience society that nothing is diregoritory about us.

Just as no one can effectively speak of the perils of war unless they have borne the battle, neither can non transgender/transsexuals effectively speak on behalf of the transgender community. This is the very catalyst which fuels the confusion and the growing subculture within the community.  Many  are being steered away from Real Life Experience requirements which are often necessary for transitioning to their actual gender.  We believe the best spokesperson for the community is a transgender person well versed in public speaking.
